For us Finns, design comes almost as a second nature. Kindergartens and schools have furniture from Artek and Iittala tableware is a common household item. In the Helsinki airport design can be holistically experienced for example in the form of birdsong in the sanitary areas. On the contrary, design can be consumed in the form of service in digital space.
MarkkuWilenius , visionar and professor of Future studies in Turku University Business School, has once said: "Design is much more than just shape. Design is about understanding the conditions for good life with a creative twist".
This what I strive for in the design of Bonden home textiles. It is therefore particularly heart warming, that Business Finland has selected Bonden as one of the eight most inspiring Finnish interior design brands alongside icons, such as Artek and Nikari. For an entrepreneur in the design industry, acknowledgements, even unofficial in kind, give motivation to strive forward.
